This is a special podcast created specifically for those who wish to undertake a pilgrimage up Calvary Hill Arizona in the McDowell Mountains above Scottsdale. The music has been selected to fit each Station of the Cross. The podcast is timed to last 65 minutes – the average one-way length of the Calvary Hill Arizona trail.

CALVARY HILL ARIZONA HIKE
March 30, 2016
Since we had a house guest on Good Friday with whom we did a Pinnacle Peak hike, I went on my usual Easter bike-hike-bike yesterday.
The weather was cold (for AZ) but clear. The temps were only in the low 60s, but a cool westerly breeze made it feel colder.
Three years ago, I created a music recording for this specific hike, which is timed to coincide with each of the 12 Stations of the Cross (see below). Yesterday, I realized that I needed to update it and add a Mozart (Clarinet Concerto) and a Tchaikovsky (Swan Lake) recordings I made in the last year or so.
Here’s now the updated CALVARY HILL ARIZONA PILGRIMAGE: STATIONS OF THE CROSS PODCAST
* * *
Here’s now a list of original musical pieces from three years ago, along with the timing of each segment Each piece of music also relates to the particular event taking place at that station (see below).
Would be-pilgrims are encouraged to download this podcast to their iPods and play it while walking the trail. The podcast has been designed to display images of the 15 Stations of the Cross as depicted on the walls of the St Francis Basilica in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
The trail starts in the parking lot of the DC Ranch Village Club.
The return part of the trail is mostly downhill and should last 60 to 75 mins, depending on the pace of each pilgrim. On the way down, one is encouraged to pause at the SACRED ROCK TALK: BUFFALO & EAGLE SPIRIT MESSAGES WRITTEN IN STONE AND SKY and feel the energy of this massive rock. It is situated to the east of Calvary Hill Arizona, a couple of hundred feet below it.
