It was almost a year ago that Camille Saint-Saens’ “Swan” landed in my life after about a five-year flight (see “The Swan,” Nov 2012).  Since that time, the piece, originally written for cello and piano, has gone through several metamorphoses.

CELLO & PIANO – VARIATION 1

Here it is now first in its original Saint-Saens orchestration (cello, piano), as well as performed on a harp and strings on my new Yamaha Clavinova 609 “digital orchestra” instrument.

Of course, as is usually the case with my musical creations, this version is slightly different from the original score written by Saint-Saens. It’s just the way I hear things… Sorry, Camille. 🙂  Hope you like it, though…

Swan Cello Harp

And now, here’s a cello and harp rendition which includes a wonderful ballet performance of the “Dying Swan” by the Russian ballerina Uliana Lopatkova:

PIANO – INITIAL VARIATION (Nov 2012)

And now, here’s “The Swan” as it originally arrived in my piano rendition, recorded last year at our Rainbow Shower home in Maui, Hawaii…
