CELEBRATION OF OUR SMALL VICTORY IN KAANAPALI, LAHAINA

Yesterday, we scored a small victory of mind over matter (see Mind +10, Body -10 [pounds]). Today, it was the time to celebrate it.

We went to Kaanapali first and spent some time on the beach. A rogue wave surprised me at one point, and soaked by shirt and towel, filling them with sand.

So when we eventually returned to Lahaina for a customary walk IMG_1967before dinner, the first stop was the Bubba Gump Shrimp gift store. I had to get a new shirt. And, of course, I got one of their own. Which Elizabeth had found on sale. 🙂

We had a very good dinner at Bubba Gump Shrimp restaurant, but were glad when we returned home just in time for a sunset.  We love our (also customary) 74F temperatures with constant ocean breezes.

Nothing like a trip to “Africa” (Lahaina) to remind us of how lucky we are to be living in a place like Haiku. No air conditioning in the summer. No heating in the winter.  Ever. Or at least not ever in the nearly six years we have been living at the Rainbow Shower. 🙂

And tomorrow? Tomorrow is another day. Our struggle to keep our weight at the desired levels will continue. We suspect tomorrow morning we’ll have a temporary setback after this celebration. 🙂

Oh well. That’s life.
