HAPPY THREESOME: LONE RANGER, WILLIAM TELL & CARMEN RIDE IN MAUI

DUSTING OFF CREVICES OF MUSIC MEMORY LEADS TO SURPRISING DISCOVERIES

This morning, I woke up with a powerful tune in my Third Ear.  It was trumpets, horns, drums.  And it was very fast.  It could have been a theme song for a western movie.  Or an opera theme.

When I started playing it after breakfast, Elizabeth thought it was aScreen Shot 2015-02-02 at 5.25.15 PM “Lone Ranger” theme, but was not sure.  I told her it sounded like an opera to me. And the opera music came before the westerns.

“So maybe it’s both?” I speculated. “Perhaps it’s an opera tune adapted to a movie?”

I decided to record it ask my musically endowed friends for help. Here it is…

Lo and behold.

Rick Shultz, my friend from Tennessee, was the first one to reply. Like Elizabeth, he also thought it was the “Lone Ranger” theme song.

Rossini Lone Ranger & TontoBut the original piece, which I probably heard in my youth while studying classical music, is Rossini’s “William Tell” Overture. The music became popular worldwide as the “Lone Ranger” theme song. And thus an adopted western tune.

So it was BOTH – opera and western. Lone Ranger and William Tell are riding together in Maui today. 🙂

art-by-MYSTICMAMMA-leofullnessBy the way, today is the Eve of the Full Moon in Leo. Here’s what astrologers have to say about that:

“This is a noisy Full Moon! The Moon is conjunct Jupiter, loud and proud in Leo and trine to Uranus. It feels as though someone is sounding a trumpet – like Gabriel announcing the day has come.”

MAYBE THAT’S WHY I WAS GUIDED TO RECORD THE “LONE RANGER”/”WILLIAM TELL” THEME USING THE TRUMPET AS THE LEAD INSTRUMENT. 🙂

CARMEN JOINS LONE RANGER, WILLIAM TELL

Two days ago, I recorded a tune I could not immediately identify.  Some of you later helped me figure out that it was “LONE RANGER” AND “WILLIAM TELL” RIDE IN MAUI.  It’s one and the same melody composed by Gioachin Rossini.Screen Shot 2015-02-05 at 12.06.37 AM

While I was contemplating the answer to my musical question, something quite extraordinary happened. I was working down in the gulch of our property when two other operatic themes weaved themselves into this Rossini piece.  Seamlessly!

CarmenThis time, I knew what they were. It was the elements of George Bizet’s “Carmen” Overture and the Song of the Toreador. And they fit perfectly with the Lone Ranger aka William Tell music.

And today, Feb 4, I recorded them along with Lone Ranger/William Tell as one integrated piece.

It was fun. It is a marriage of opera and western; of Italy (Rossini), France (Bizet), Spain (Carmen) and Switzerland (William Tell). It should be fun.  A threesome – two guys and a (hot Spanish) gal. 🙂

The piece is just 4:44 minutes long.   And music is truly UPLIFTING.  I guarantee that at the end, you will feel happier, perkier and more energetic than before.

I’ve already played it for Elizabeth this afternoon and she loved it. She was humming it while making dinner and waving her arms like a conductor.

So here it is…  Lone Ranger-William Tell and Carmen – united at the Rainbow Shower in Maui. A happy threesome… 🙂
