HAPPY ST PATRICK’S DAY!

For those who may not be aware, this is also my North American Screen Shot 2015-03-17 at 8.06.17 AMbirthday. I arrived here from Europe 45 years ago today.

So now I am only 45, according to St Patrick. Magic of being Irish. 🙂

How goes that Irish good luck-wish go? “May the wind be always at your back the road rise up to meet you.”

To which I can now add:Screen Shot 2015-03-17 at 10.40.31 AM

“And may the age keep on declining” (just like that of Brad Pitt’s character in the movie “Meet Joe Black“)

Here’s a quick recording I made before going off to do my “Farmer’s Yoga” in the gulch. 🙂

St Patrick’s Day Farmer’s Yoga

As to my Farmer’s Yoga today, it consisted of moving nine (9) railroad ties, each weighing about 200 lbs, about 100 yards up the hill. And then installing them to make a boundary between the cultivated lawn around the Anahata-Huaca-Ahu, the sacred place at the Rainbow Shower gulch, and the wild jungle farther up the hill.

I moved the last four railroad ties by El Jeepo, as you can see. But loading them up into it was not much easier than flipping them up the hill manually, as I did with the first five.

Update December 17, 2015

MY IRISH ROOTS – SONG

For the last several days, I have been hearing Irish-sounding music in my Third Ear every time I sat down to play something on my Clavinova. Maybe it’s because it’s the 17th of the month, like Saint Patrick’s Day. So finally, I decided to record what I was hearing and playing.

I have no idea if it is a part of some known Irish song or something original. It really doesn’t matter to me. Because I know this song is coming from my heart. The tears that well up when I play this slow ballad prove it is authentic.

So I will call it My Irish Roots – to go with the story about my Irish roots (http://altzar.org/Bob_Irish_TOC.html).

You can play this audio recording by clicking on the link below.  There are two variations – one with Scottish bagpipes another with the Irish ones.  Let me know which ones you like better.

UPDATE DeC 17, 2015 – 5:50 PM HST

IT’S A SCOTTISH, NOT IRISH TUNE

My friend, Rick Shultz of Tennessee, has just identified this tune as “My Bonnie Lies Over the Ocean.” Which is actually a Scottish, not an Irish song.  No wonder my Spirit guides had me record the first variation using the Scottish bagpipes. 🙂  – http://wp.me/p1jFeo-15tAltzar in Royal Stewart Tartan

So maybe I should rename it “My Scottish Roots?” 🙂

In the portrait on the right, taken as my 1978 B&W passport photo, I am actually wearing a Royal Steward tartan tie. Though I had no idea at the time that that’s what that tartan signified. I just like the look and feel of it.

Which is how our Spirit guides work on us.

Here’s one vocal recording of it from “Songs for Children” by Hooplakidz

Here are the lyrics of the song…

My Bonnie Lies Over the Ocean

My Bonnie lies over the ocean,
my Bonnie lies over the sea,
My Bonnie lies over the ocean,
O bring back my Bonnie to me.

Chorus:
Bring back, bring back, O bring back my Bonnie to me, to me:
Bring back, bring back, O bring back my Bonnie to me.

O blow ye winds over the ocean,
O blow ye winds over the sea.
O blow ye winds over the ocean,
And bring back my Bonnie to me.

Repeat chorus

Last night as I lay on my pillow,
Last night as I lay on my bed,
Last night as I lay on my pillow,
I dreamed that my Bonnie was dead.

Repeat chorus

The winds have blown over the ocean,
The winds have blown over the sea,
The winds have blown over the ocean,
And brought back my Bonnie to me.

Repeat chorus

My Bonnie leaned over the gas tank,
The height of its contents to see,
I lit a small match to assist her,
O Bring back my Bonnie to me.

Repeat chorus

Last night as I lay on my pillow,
Last night as I lay on my bed,
I stuck my feet out of the window,
In the morning the neighbors were dead.

Repeat chorus

My mother makes beer in the bathtub,
My father makes synthetic gin,
My sister makes fudge for a quarter,
Wouldja believe how the money rolls in?

Repeat chorus

My mother, she drowned in the bathtub,
My father, he died from his gin,
My sister choked on her chocolate,
My stars, what a fix I am in.

Repeat chorus

I tried making beer in the bathtub,
I tried making synthetic gin,
I tried making fudge for a living,
Now look at the shape that I’m in.
