Music from “Fiddler of the Roof” returns to me after seven years

As I was waking up this morning and thinking about beautiful sunrises and sunsets I was about to post in the OUR BEAUTIFUL PLANET series of photographs,  the music of sunrises, sunsets also came to me.

It was from a famous 1960s musical – Fiddler on the Roof (also made into a film in 1971).  I have not played for at least 5-6 years.  My only recording of it was made nearly 7 years ago (on July 3, 2009 – see below).

So today, while Elizabeth was out shopping, I made a new recording of “Sunrise, Sunset” – for the first time on my Clavinova, using the Accordion and Strings Orchestra voices for the main theme.

I have also added and synched the beautiful lyrics that go with this song.  Check it out…

Here’s also a recording of it I made nearly 7 years ago now on my antique piano which I had brought with me earlier that year from Arizona to the Rainbow Shower in Maui:

DRUID DANCE – based on “In the Hall of the Mountain King” – by Edward Grieg

Screen Shot 2015-06-26 at 3.18.46 PMWhile Elizabeth was out on a doctor’s appointment this morning, I started to play this piece of music you are about to hear. It was the first time I was doing it on my Clavinova. I have not played it in over three years.  And then just boom, out of nowhere, it popped up again (for reasons why, see below).

Screen Shot 2015-06-26 at 3.18.56 PMBy the time Elizabeth returned home, I was in the midst of recording it already. Realizing that, she tried to slink by past me into the kitchen. I was so deeply into the music that I had not noticed her until she eventually crossed my line of vision.  She was dancing to the rhythm of music.  I smiled at her.  (You’ll have a chance to see that on the video).

During the last four years, I have expanded the original theme by Edward Grieg into something that can best be described as a Druid Dance. Which is what my title for this recording is.

But you will also notice a pair of Tahitian dancers joining in with the Druids for a little while.  It all works because the music is truly PRIMORDIAL. It transcends all earthly cultures and realms.

DRUID DANCE – Constantine-related Music

Interesting how intricately everything is connected between the earthly and spirit realms. Yesterday was the fourth anniversary of my first revelation about my lifetime as the Roman Emperor Constantine.  Yesterday was also the third anniversary of my last recording of the music which is somehow associated with that incarnation – “In the Hall of the Mountain King” by Edward Grieg.Bob_Constantine

This tune first came to me in a dream on Aug 9, 2011 which was related to Constantine  (see Constantine Trail of Tears).  At the time, I had no idea what it was. So I just recorded the first few bars and then solicited help from my musically-educated friends. Here’s that first recording of it…
